Wausau school board to review mediator's offer

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - The Wausau school board will review a state mediator's offer tonight to resolve the stalemate behind a new teacher's contract.

The board will consider the non-binding proposal behind closed doors during its regular meeting at 7 p.m.

The mediator came up with the offer two weeks ago after both sides failed to reach a compromise following a four-hour meeting.

Terms of the proposal have not been made public.

The teachers union will also review the proposal.  President Mary Jarvis could not comment on whether the union had reviewed the offer yet but said students continue to be the union's number one focus.
