WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Family members have identified the latest victim of H-1-N-1 flu in Marathon County. 32-year-old Tawnya Plante of Schofield worked as a caregiver for people with cognitive disabilities. It's not clear where or how she caught the virus.
Family members say she had asthma, which made it more difficult to fight the flu. She died of a heart attack on November 8th as she was struggling to breathe. While she had the flu she also came down with pneumonia and bronchitis.
She's the second victim of H1N1 in Marathon County. The other was 12-year-old Emily Eaton of Rib Mountain, who died last June.
Plante is survived by four children.
