WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WSAU) The Wisconsin Rapids common council voted unanimously to make 5-point-3 million dollars in infrastructure improvements for a new wind turbine manufacturing facility. The city's redevelopment funds will come from a special tax financing district.

Energy Composites Corp. announced in March that they want to build a new facility in the Rapids East Commerce Center.

The company says it hopes to finalize the financing for the 43-million dollar plant in the next few weeks. They expect to break ground before the end of the year.

When the facility is complete, it will add up to 600 jobs.
